WISQARS is the leading US injury surveillance system, covering both fatal and — crucially — nonfatal injuries. It is the one source here that also provides cost-of-injury data: the medical and economic burden of motor vehicle crashes.

Data can be filtered to Texas and to motor-vehicle-traffic causes, and it captures emergency-department visits that fatality-only sources like FARS miss entirely.

Best for: the full picture beyond deaths — injuries, ER visits, and the economic cost of crashes.
